It was a nice surprise when I saw the photo in the magazine. The title of this edition is Passionate Purpose, and yes, journaling and photography are 2 things I’m really passionate about.
A few years ago, hubby gave me a NikonD3200. I haven’t used it much. First of all, it’s bigger and heavier than my iPhone, so it’s easy to put the iPhone in the pocket and go. Second, it has lots of functions and options that I don’t know how to set them. I hate to read manuals!
Recently, I’ve been brave and using my camera more frequently. I’m taking lots of photos of flowers and insects in my garden. The quality of the photos taken with the Nikon is much better than the ones taken with the iPhone, there isn’t a comparison.
I’m learning little by little how to manage the camera. Hope I’ll be a camera pro (like my kids say) by the end of the summer.

Hope your day is going well. Stop few minutes and pay attention to the detail of the things around you. It can be the prettiness of the tiny petals inside hibiscus flower if you are in a garden. It can be a small crack in your cup of coffee if you are in the office. It can be the dripping of water from the tap if you are in the kitchen, it can be … so many things that we don’t pay attention in the hurry of getting ‘big’ things done.
Taking easy, listening to the wishes of my body. I’ve learned I can’t hurry. I need to stop and check with my body. Listen to all parts of it and respect my limits.
My mantra is STOP, BREATHE AND LISTEN. I put these words together a few years ago. My intention was to listen to the things around me, mostly the sounds of nature. Now I know the most important sounds I need to listen are inside me; in my mind and in my body.
My morning has started slowly. I was still in bed at 9 am! I did heart space meditation that my friend Delicia posted on her blog today. It’s a simple but powerful meditation. You can find it here.
I hadn’t practiced yoga for more than 6 months, today my body asked for it. I felt ready to start this practice that was part of my morning routine for many years. I was surprised at how well my body responded to the poses, of course, they weren’t perfect, but good enough to know that I’m ready to practice yoga again.
Now, after a healthy breakfast, I’m writing this blog post for you. How is your Friday going on?
This view is a bliss to me. Every morning while nursing a cup of coffee in my hands I look outside my kitchen door. The connection between the white sky and the snow on the ground making everything whole.
Nature has taught me so much these last years. One of the most important things is LET GO, let go of stuff that takes me away from my true self. I’ve learned that I own my body, my soul, and space where I step on. There is no room to be smiling and pleasing others anymore at the cost of my happiness. I need to be happy with myself, to be content and true with my feelings in first place.
Nature has taught me that there is time for everything: time to keep and to let go.
