How do you like your coffee?

I like mine with almond milk, sometimes coconut milk, other times oat milk. I used to have it black, but recently I learned how to make vegan milk and it turned out to be part of my morning ritual. My favourite one at the moment. I add the fresh and warm milk to a strong black coffee just out from the coffee machine.

Just a little bit of pleasure to a mundane thing as coffee making.

Wishing a joyful Friday to you!

30/30 – it’s the little things

Yes, it’s the last day of my little challenge, it’s the little things! Hope you have enjoyed the ride, and I have inspired you to pay more attention to the tiny little things around you.

It’s a beautiful morning, fresh and the birds are singing. I’ve my cup of coffee and my journal open. I’m writing this post and thinking if it was worth posting every day, sharing a little bit of my day, mostly my mornings. Looking back at the posts and reading all the comments I’ve no doubt that it was worth every bit of it.

The online world can be scary sometimes, but I’ve true friends here and it’s always wonderful to connect with you.

The little thing for today is my journaling practice. I’ve already posted about it here, since it’s one of my favourite little things I decided to end this challenge with a photo of my journal.

Thanks for following along! 🙂

Crystals. Touching them brings me calm, it’s like I’m in a forest or close to the ocean. I have a few which I bought or received as a gift. I don’t believe they have any power, but they are a piece of the Earth and being in contact with the natural elements of Earth is wonderful.

Every particular in nature, a leaf, a drop, a crystal, a moment of time is related to the whole, and partakes of the perfection of the whole.

Buttons. My collection of buttons never stops growing. Now, most of the clothes have duplicated buttons in case we lose one of them, the extra ones go to my collection. I always remove them before discarding any old shirts/dresses. Some of the buttons in my collection are precious to me. Others are pretty, and others are ordinary ones that I keep anyway.

I used my macro lens for this photo and I love it!

27/30 – it’s the little things

I can’t believe it’s the last week of posting it’s the little things! I’m starting this week with lavender fragrance, isn’t it wonderful. My lavender bush is blooming and I can’t wait to make delicious things with the blossoms. I use them for tea, salads, and smoothies …, and I make many pouches loaded with the seeds to put in the drawers and closets.

Have a wonderful week!

New mug. I have many mugs/cups, but I can’t resist when I find a pretty mug in a store. This is my new acquisition. I love the soft tulips, the size and weight of this mug. A little something just for me. A tiny drop of self-care because I smile when I look at it.

Do one small thing immediately – often this is all you need to do to get started.

Overnight oats. Delish meal, easy and nutritious, depending on what you add to it. This one has oats, almond milk, chia seeds, cocoa, vegan protein powder, and fresh strawberries. It has around 300 calories and most of them are proteins!

I’m eating one bowl each morning around 7 am and I only get hungry around 1 pm. I don’t need snacks during the morning. And I save some time in the morning too, the breakfast is almost ready and I only add fresh fruits.

It’s the little things such as taking care of my meals during the evening and not hurrying and eating whatever is at hand during the mornings.

24/30 – it’s the little things

Fading. My favourite red roses are fading, they were the queens of my garden for a while, you can check one of them here. Now they are giving space for other flowers to shine. They are still pretty and I love the fragrance, the softness of the petals and the colours changing little by little. I hope they will bloom again, generally before the fall they show up as a farewell.

Reading. I read two books at once, I mean, I’ve two books going on at the same time. One a paper book and the other a kindle book. I like to read the paper book during the daytime and the kindle during bedtime.

My two last reads were great! Both are about women carving their space during wartime. The paper book was The dictionary of lost words, you can see my little review here, and the other one, All the lights above us. The author is a fellow WordPress blogger MB Henry, and the story is about five women in Europe dealing with the horrors of WW2. It was interesting that the paper book story started years before the WW1, and when I wrote my post about it I didn’t have any idea that the story would reach wartime.

Both books are excellent. I’m glad I read them simultaneously, and the characters were strong women caring for their loved ones and for their own lives.

Softness. Most of my photos are taken with my iPhone. I have a Nikon camera and recently hubby gave me a macro lens. I’m having a hard time adapting to this lens, it’s not easy to focus and most of the time the photos don’t turn out nice. I took lots of photos during the weekend, and this one is my favourite. I like the background softness and the details of the petals.

I need to keep practicing, I’m not looking for perfection, just having more fun when photographing.
