25/30 – it’s the little things

Overnight oats. Delish meal, easy and nutritious, depending on what you add to it. This one has oats, almond milk, chia seeds, cocoa, vegan protein powder, and fresh strawberries. It has around 300 calories and most of them are proteins!

I’m eating one bowl each morning around 7 am and I only get hungry around 1 pm. I don’t need snacks during the morning. And I save some time in the morning too, the breakfast is almost ready and I only add fresh fruits.

It’s the little things such as taking care of my meals during the evening and not hurrying and eating whatever is at hand during the mornings.

16/30 – it’s the little things

Well, halfway through my project about little things. Hope you are enjoying the ride!

I was invited to a garden party last weekend. The weather was nice, I couldn’t resist the invitation and joined a few ladies in a nice afternoon conversation. I prepared a dessert to share with them. A simple raspberry pudding served in jam jars. I added a special touch: a lace on the jar and sprinkled the pudding with chocolate chips. I can say that my dessert was the star of the party, everyone loves it, both the taste and the little things I added to it.

While it may seem small, the ripple effects of small things is extraordinary.

11/30 – it’s the little things

Spinach stew is colourful and delish. This one has spinach, red kidney beans, dried apricots and plums, garlic and onion, salt, black pepper and turmeric. It’s served on the top of white rice. I enjoy mixing up the flavours, sweet and salty when prepping and tasting the food. This stew is rich in proteins, fibres and vitamins. The perfect combo for a healthy and beautiful dish.

Tanka Tuesday :: Berries’ Journey

Tanka Tuesday this week is a theme prompt about journey/travels:

“When one considers this wide-ranging theme, there are many possible subjects to keep in mind. A journey can consist of just about anything. One could be moving physically traveling from place to place, or be transforming in some significant way. The journey might be somewhere specific that can actually be listed on a map, or somewhere less tangible, such as the afterlife.” READ MORE ON POEMANALYSIS.COM

This theme brings me many memories, so many journeys I’ve taken, both physically and in my mind, journeys of adventure and journeys of growth, journeys of despair and journeys of joy. But I decided to go light and to be joyful, just simple. I’m writing the berries’ journey from a tiny seed planted on the ground, harvested, being on display at the market, coming home with me, and turning out a delicious and healthy breakfast. Hope you enjoy it!

Square Perspective – Proteins

After ten days of low carbs and high protein diet, I’m starting to see the results. My skin is glowing and I feel lighter, I haven’t checked my weight yet, I really don’t care much about losing a few pounds here and there, but what matters is feeling healthier. Sugar and carbs make me feel anxious and bloated. Of course, I can’t resist a piece of chocolate or a slice of oven-fresh bread! Instead of eating a full bar of sugary chocolate I’m eating a tiny piece of dark chocolate, that generally comes with low sugar. And the bread, not a full loaf anymore! But a tiny slice only. I still enjoy this kind of delicacy but I don’t overdo it.

Wishing you a great weekend!
