distressed soul
carrying the weight of the past
crawling between crumbs of memories
darkness takes over your surroundings
deep into your being
the veil is thinning
while bare branches reach to you
a carpet of leaves welcomes you
the golden light is your portal
Fall always feels like a season of both endings and beginnings, doesn’t it? For this week, let’s explore those transitions in a Quadrille—a 44-word poem, a form first shared with us by the wonderful d’Verse Poets Pub.
Your poem can lean into endings, beginnings, or the mix of the two. And if you’d like an extra spark, here’s a thought from Friedrich Nietzsche:
I notice that autumn is more the season of the soul than of nature.
I’m always searching for light, both in the true sense of brightness and the lightness in my thoughts, my being.
Spring is coming, at least trying, the fight with winter seems never-ending. Slowly it gets there, the signs are everywhere; from the grocery store, loaded with tulips and fresh produce, to my garden where the signs are still subtle but promising.

The Earth is smiling and starting to dress up in all colours.
However, darkness lurks in the corner, waiting for an opportunity to take us down. Be wise and keep a source of light at all times.
Hello my friends, I hope you are enjoying the new season. Autumn started yesterday here in Canada. I’m so glad it was a Sunday and I could sleep in and I had a delicious breakfast which included pumpkin pie and my homemade plum jam. I also decorated the table with a white pumpkin, it is a tradition for me, every year I buy 3 white pumpkins, I keep them on one of my windowsills during the season. I had a wonderful creamy coffee in my pumpkin mug.
The weekend was beautiful, surprising warm for this time of year and wonderful for going out and taking photos.
These are a few shots from the weekend.
Well, a new week is starting, I hope to keep the weekend vibes with me, I know it is impossible, but I’ll try my best.
My city is loaded with beauty these last days of October. I wish I could always be outdoors, enjoying the sunshine and the glorious trees. Impossible tasks, since I work all day and most of the time in a place without windows. I left the office earlier on Friday, yes, I deserved it! I strolled around my neighbourhood soaking up all the sunshine and fresh air.
Walking meditation as I like to say. Capturing all the views and sounds with my mind, and of course, taking breaks to save these joyful moments with my camera.
Leaves on the ground, an invitation to step on them and listen to the crunching sound.
“Fallen leaves on the ground are the golden song of immortal creativity.”
Fading. My favourite red roses are fading, they were the queens of my garden for a while, you can check one of them here. Now they are giving space for other flowers to shine. They are still pretty and I love the fragrance, the softness of the petals and the colours changing little by little. I hope they will bloom again, generally before the fall they show up as a farewell.
“Do not watch the petals fall from the rose with sadness, know that, like life, things sometimes must fade, before they can bloom again.”
Spring is finally here on my side of the world. Flowers, rain, fresh rain, birds, Earth fragrance. Nature is having a party loaded with beauty.
The first flowers in my garden are tulips, my favourite spring flowers.
The public gardens in my neighbourhood have lots of them, each one prettier than the other. It’s such a blessing for my eyes and soul to look at them, stop and take a photo (or more than one). These few minutes of pleasure are like meditation.
Stop, breathe and listen to the whispers of the frozen river.
Waking by a frozen river is one of my pleasures during the winter. When I slow down and calm my mind, I can listen to the sound of the water moving under the ice and whispering to me.
