A tanka for Tanka Tuesday

one minute you are six in the next, sixty interval in between are filled with moments tiny moments of joy moments of worry tiny moments of smiles moments of sadness all of them constitute whole body and soul with each bit of them be your own being
Tanka Tuesday this week is in commemoration of Colleen’s 65th birthday. She asked us to write our own poetry form using 65 syllables. The form I created contains 3 stanzas: the first and second 6-5-6-5 and the third one 6-5-5-5. I’m naming it Boomer!
The tulips are for Colleen! Happy Birthday!

i'm the owner of my destiny i'm powerful, I don't need you slowly nearing my empire my eyes will burn your soul purple as my dress hate flourishes forgiveness is past go
Tanka Tuesday this week explores Ekphrastic poetry, inspired by works of art.
This is an impressive portrait, the lady exhales confidence. The eyes and the colour purple called my attention. Purple colour expresses luxury, power, and independence. She seems content but at the same time, I see hate in her eyes.

tied hands words won't save her in luxuriousness the answer is in the background despair the desired freedom will meet her far away the sea waits looking for hope it's time

Tanka Tuesday prompt is ‘share your day’. I have written a butterfly cinquain to describe a little bit of my early mornings.

Tanka Tuesday – theme prompt “The Nature of Lightning” – I’m sharing a Butterfly Cinquain about my process of creating a draft, putting ideas together, scribbling, and words floating until they reach the paper, the ground, and an explosion. Hope you enjoy it!
Early morning jogging. The silence and emptiness of the streets, the contrast between the softness in the air and the rough touch of my sneakers on the ground. Balance, focusing on what is ahead and at the same time feeling the present moment.

Tanka Tuesday this week is tanka prose consisting of a preface and a tanka poem.

memories flash in my mind
craving the beyond
luxury in my garden
the love and feeling
take my soul far far away
opening the path
the closeness and abundance
red velvet is the colour
Tanka Tuesday is a taste of the rainbow: to choose a colour and write a syllabic poem. The colour I’ve chosen is red velvet from my precious rose. Choka is a form that consists of 9 lines with 5-7-5-7-5-7-5-7-7 syllables. The rose bush in the photo is very precious to me, hope you can feel it through the poem.
A question for you: If you could go back 20 years ago and change your path, would you do it?

Tanka Tuesday this week is TANKA PROSE:Â “We write Tanka prose from the first-person point-of-view. The prose paragraph(s) must also seek to be, if not poetic, at least something that grabs our attention. It must compete with the verse in its style, intending to be inventive and expressive all on its own.“
I took this photo during the weekend, the weather was fabulous, perfect to wander around and take photos. I thought the photo is perfect for a tanka poem. Hope you enjoy the poem and the photo.
