Nonet – Purple

Portrait of Lady Agnew of Lochnaw (1865-1932) by John Singer Sargent, Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons
i'm the owner of my destiny
i'm powerful, I don't need you
slowly nearing my empire
my eyes will burn your soul
purple as my dress
hate flourishes
forgiveness
is past
go

Tanka Tuesday this week explores Ekphrastic poetry, inspired by works of art.

This is an impressive portrait, the lady exhales confidence. The eyes and the colour purple called my attention. Purple colour expresses luxury, power, and independence. She seems content but at the same time, I see hate in her eyes.

Tanka Tuesday – Lone

Being carried away by longing
Blending among the canopy
Wondering and wandering
Sensing forgotten paths
Into the forest
Braids and branches
Turning one
Single
Gleam

Today’s prompt for Tanka Tuesday is a photo prompt. The photo should be able to inspire you to write a poem. That single mushroom in this photo evoked me a feeling of loneness. I’m sharing it using Nonet as the poetry form.

Love #Nonet

The image is from Pixabay, by Michael Seibt
All the love and flowers you give me
Feelings are submerged in our skin
Yes, it's possible to dream
Lightness in my being
Music for senses
Beauty and might
Wondering
Dancing
Still

This image is so cute and made me wonder about impossible things, or maybe all the possibilities.

Sharing with Colleen’s poetry challenge.

Eternal, #double nonet

Dreams suspended in the split moment
The breathe hoping for the magic
Infinity blue passion
Waves bringing and taking
Lost between the thoughts
Soft sand and wind
Wandering
Being
Time
Healing
Letting go
The heaviness
Fences of the past
Always suffocating
Wasted questions and answers
The lavish of infinity
Eternal link between earth and sky

This week words are plan & spend, synonyms only! I used hoping & wasted.
