Happy New Year

img_2253It’s difficult to believe but 2018 is almost here. What has happened with 2017? It was like yesterday I was wishing happy 2017.

I don’t like to make resolutions for the new year,  generally, by February I’ve already given up on them.

But I do choose a word of the year, I’ve been doing it since 2014 and it really makes a difference for me. A tiny work helps me to be focus, to always bring me back to my real self.

My word for 2018 is EMBRACE. I’ve been doing a brave work of discovering my true self, a journey of self-love and respect. It’s time to accept myself and be my true friend. I painted this canvas and I’ll place it on a wall in my studio.  The symbols on it are Angelic Zibu Symbols: On the top left – nurture yourself, left side – listen within and on the right – embrace life. My 2017 word was BRAVE, I painted a canvas for it as well. Looking back I see that I was really brave in relation to figure out stuff that was hidden deep inside me.

I painted a wheel of the year with words for each month, so I can narrow down and work month by month on each intention. On the left side are my intentions and on the right side I’ll fill up after each month with the what really happened.

img_2256Here are my new notebooks for 2018:

The one with flowers is a Christma gift from hubby, it will be my journal for morning/evening pages, under it is a large sketchbook that I’ll use for art journaling. I have the We’Moon datebook and the tiny one is Hobonichi Techo, Japanese compact daily planner, that I’ll use for poetry and quotes. This last one is a quite expensive notebook, but I decided to give it to myself as a treat because I deserve it!

And you? Have you chosen a work for the new year, set few intentions, or are you going to let things move according to the flow?

Happy New Year!

“Nourishing yourself in a way that helps you blossom in the direction

you want to go is attainable, and you are worth the effort. “

Deborah Day

It’s cold around here, I’m glad I don’t have to go to work this week. This means I can be cozy indoors without the hush to go out early morning.

Few things I’m doing to nourish myself this week:

  • Sleeping and sleeping
  • Lots of art journal pages
  • Eating warm and health food
  • Going out in the afternoon to take photos, it’s cold but it’s pretty out there
  • Knitting a scarf for myself
  • Reading and writing
  • Drinking lots of tea
  • Watching movies with hubby and kids in the evenings

And you? how are you nourishing yourself this week?

Happy New Year!

“Stop focusing on how stressed you are,

and remember how blessed you are. ”

Unknown

This week could have been a crazy one. Too many things to do, here are few of them:

  • gifts wrapping
  • two potluck lunches (this means, hours cooking)
  • doctor appointment for one of the kids
  • hairdressing appointment for me
  • Pick up packages at the post office

I was getting stressed before the week started, how could I have time to do everything that needs to be done and still be a full day in the office?

Monday morning I made a list of all the chores for this week. At the end of the list, I wrote:

” You control your rhythm, nothing can steal your inner peace without your permission.”

I’m taking easy, step by step,  and more than 1/2 of the list is already checked. The best thing to do, when the stress starts to take over, is to slow down and do something unrelated to the stressed situation. This week I’m having lots of ‘me time’: journaling, reading, watching the snow or simply stopping and admiring the lights around me.  Everything is ok!

Happy Solstice to you!

whiteness and wildness

whiteness and wildness

This view is a bliss to me. Every morning while nursing a cup of coffee in my hands I look outside my kitchen door. The connection between the white sky and the snow on the ground making everything whole.

Nature has taught me so much these last years. One of the most important things is LET GO, let go of stuff that takes me away from my true self. I’ve learned that I own my body, my soul, and space where I step on. There is no room to be smiling and pleasing others anymore at the cost of my happiness.  I need to be happy with myself, to be content and true with my feelings in first place.

Nature has taught me that there is time for everything: time to keep and to let go.

“Shut the door not that it lets in the cold

but that it lets out the coziness”

Mark Twain

It’s a wonderland around here, we had a snow storm last night, 8 inches of snow! It was a madness to come back home, generally, it takes 1/2 hr for me to get back from work, yesterday I spent almost 2 hrs.

School buses have been canceled, so the kids are sleeping in and I’m debating if I should go or stay in the coziness of my home. Well for while I have a cup of coffee in my hands and enjoying the moment.

Have a great day and stay safe!

“Self-compassion is simply giving the same kindness to ourselves

that we would give to others. “

Christopher Germer

I’m learning to take a better care of myself and to respect my space. I’ve neglected my well being for many years. Enought is enough!. I know it’s not easy but little by little I get there.

December vision board

hello my dear friends from all over the world. we have a lovely sunshine morning here in my part of the world, and the news is that we will have a white christmas.

i make a vison board for every month (of course, if you follow me for long you know it), this is my december one that I made yesterday. november wasn’t an easy month for me, lots of up and downs, and i almost lost my true-self a long the way. i’m in a process of recovering mind and body. somethings are clear now in spite of all the darkness that had laid on me. more than ever i’m grateful for each moment, for being here and now.

few things for december:

  • practice gratitude daily
  • enjoy the beauty of the holidays
  • cook/bake lots of good stuff and savor each bite of them
  • keep (or better, rescue) my focus on simplicity and minimalism
  • and the most important of all: enjoy my family and enjoy myself

wishing a wonderful december to you.

hugs and love,

E.

“Give your stress wings, and let it fly away. ”

Terri Guillemets

November hasn’t been an easy month for me, thanks goodness, today is the last day of it. Looking forward for a great December with lots of mindful work and grounding. Hoping to return to the gym for spin classes and resuming my morning yoga and meditation. Little things that really make a difference, they make a better person to me, and to others around me as well.

Hope you have a great day and a wonderful new month ahead.
