W3 ::Poet of the Week!

my Valentine’s Day flowers

Hello! I’m proud to say that Svenja (thanks Sveja!) has chosen my poem Renewal for last week’s W3 challenge and I’m the poet of the week (PoW) for the W3 challenge this week! As the PoW I set the guidelines for the week’s challenge.

Since it’s February, the month of love, I thought love poems would be perfect, in particular ‘self-love’. And I chose a sonet as a poetry form for it. Click here for all the guidelines details, and join the challenge. I’d love to read your thoughts about self-love and get inspired by them. Below is my sonet loaded with self-love messages for myself, you can use them too!

love yourself today
less than tomorrow
and more than yesterday
completely, not hollow

without fear or shame
embrace the flaws
ignite the flame
do not withdraw

you’ve permission to dream
leave the past behind
work on self-esteem
peace in your mind

know you are enough
you need to be tough

it's easy to say
not so easy to do
advice, everybody has one
but the recipe is a secret
nobody knows where it is
free your mind
i imagine, it will need
2 cups of forgiveness
2 cups of compassion
1 cup of kindness
1 teaspoon of joy
mix everything together
bake for 1/2 hr at 375 F
oh, i forgot the most
important, the baking powder
for this recipe it'd be self-love
without it
no mind will be free

Noticing # 92

Noticing how tiny gestures brighten my day. Flowers from hubby and a ‘me gift’ that arrived yesterday! I’ve read wonderful reviews for this book, and I decided to give it a try. I’m not into mythology stories, but I couldn’t resist and ordered it. The first pages so far are great!

It’s Valentine’s Day and I’m planning on baking a few yummy treats for my family and lots of reading and writing. And you? Any plans for today? I hope whatever you do to be loaded with love and self care!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Coziness

Nothing better than leaving the office a little bit early without saying/explaining anything to anyone, just grabbing my bag and my coat and coming back home.

A stolen moment. It’s precious because it isn’t an ordinary moment, it’s something that I was craving for, I listening to my soul and said I deserve it, I need it, so I gave up everything else to be with myself. To be at home, warm, alone, with a cup of tea and a book.

The photo above is from the weekend when we were snowed in. Now I’m writing this blog post and wishing lots of stolen moments to you and of course to myself as well.

nurt thurs – me gift

We still do not know one thousandth of one percent

of what nature has revealed to us.

Albert Einstein

my first sight, from the window of a plane, when we moved here was this river. i knew that my home had to be close by it, i didn’t want to go anywhere far from this blue water.

yesterday i took the day off, first day of spring and i decided i am worth of this ‘me gift’ to enjoy nature. I had a long walk by the river, stopping on its small beaches along the way. it was so refreshing and healing. in each corner i could see the earth transforming, getting ready for the warm days ahead.

hope you had a wonderful day, and don’t forget to give yourself a ‘me gift’!

“Self-compassion is simply giving the same kindness to ourselves

that we would give to others. “

Christopher Germer

I’m learning to take a better care of myself and to respect my space. I’ve neglected my well being for many years. Enought is enough!. I know it’s not easy but little by little I get there.
