nurt thurs – me gift

We still do not know one thousandth of one percent

of what nature has revealed to us.

Albert Einstein

my first sight, from the window of a plane, when we moved here was this river. i knew that my home had to be close by it, i didn’t want to go anywhere far from this blue water.

yesterday i took the day off, first day of spring and i decided i am worth of this ‘me gift’ to enjoy nature. I had a long walk by the river, stopping on its small beaches along the way. it was so refreshing and healing. in each corner i could see the earth transforming, getting ready for the warm days ahead.

hope you had a wonderful day, and don’t forget to give yourself a ‘me gift’!

Nurt Thurs – Lemons

If Life gives you lemons, make lemonade. If the lemons are rotten, take out the seeds and plant them in order to grow new lemons.

Louise Hay

I bought these pretty lemons this week and I had to take this photo before slicing them. For few minutes I was completely involved in the process of photography. I thought about the container to put them, I decided a bowl would be ok, so which bowl should I choose, a white one or a blue? The place and the the perfect light for the photo. My iPhone or my Nikon?

I spent few minutes in one activity that I love, photography. This could mean nothing, if I wasn’t getting ready for a work meeting, that I was freaking out about! I had to pitch few ideas that I knew before hand some people weren’t happy about them. I needed this time for myself as a ‘me gift’ to refocus.

And you? are you taking time to do what you love?

Nurt Thurs – Recharge

Where focus goes, energy flows.

Toni Robbins

Being by myself, in solitude, a few minutes in the morning is necessary for setting up my mood for the day.

Yesterday, before getting up, I heard another snow storm was coming. Instead of stressing out and hurrying up to arrive at the work before the storm hits the city, I slowed down and spent some time journaling and doing some art.

I needed this time to focus on myself before opening the door to the chaos outdoors.

I followed my mantra: Stop; Breathe; Listen

In the end, I had a pleasant day and enjoyed the walk in the snow feeling the wind and the flakes touching my face.

Instead of complaining, I was grateful for that moment.

Have you stopped and thought what are you grateful for in this moment?

Have a great Thursday!

Nurturing Thursday: Write

You can always edit a bad page. You can’t edit a blank page.
Jodi Picoult

After many months on and off with my writing, finally, I’m getting back to it. I had mixed feelings about it and my critical voice was speaking aloud.

I don’t know what I was afraid of, since I write for myself, to put on the pages what needs to come out of my mind, to clear my ideas, in general, to make sense of myself. It’s not that I’ll publish it or defense a thesis about it. It’s more a kind of lone therapy.

Well, my mind is playing many tricks recently, some of them dangerous, so it’s better to put everything clear on the paper and don’t let these tricks take over.

We are all just canvases for our scars – Jodi Picoult

Noticing how a little gesture can light up my mind. I got these beautiful tiny flowers at the grocery store today. Why not? a gift for myself, I deserve it!

It’s snowing, all grey and cold out there, now at least my living room as colour and freshness. Hoping to give a break in my mood, I don’t know if it is depression, winter blues, but I need to recharge and take care of myself.

I just love Picoult’s quote from the Spark of light! It reminds of acceptance, and I need to be reminded of it all the time.

Wishing a peaceful day/night to you!

a random page # 1

It is difficult to start a new path, but you will find the way, you will erase the old path and make a new one, little by little, stone by stone. It will be yours and no one else.

When you realize that most of your life has been spent to please others, the only option is to go ahead and try to put yourself up in the chain. Take a bath of self-love and self-respect, be yourself for now on. People come and people go, but you need to stick with yourself, so take a better care of this body and this soul, do what pleases them.

I decided to start a series with my art pages, I’m naming it a random page. I love the frame of my noticing series, so why not starting one with my art pages. Hope you enjoy it!
