spring party

on my way yesterday – a rainy day

in that one moment
when snow turns into rain
the trees smile
Nature gets ready for the Spring party
flowers, birds songs, lots of sunshine
i feel lightness in the air

after the harsh winter
rain feeds the soil and the roots
Earth fragrance is wonderful
the sun wakes up earlier and goes to sleep later
bicycles and skates are everywhere
garden preparations must start
flowers and vegetable beds

it’s time for renewing
both soul and body
in that one moment
when snow turns into rain
thank you, Nature, for the opportunity
to start over and enjoy your gifts

Lovingly

These tiny cards are called inches, they are 2 x 2 inches. I love to set up a specific time to make them, not hurrying but inspired. I make them for myself, although I have sent a few of them to friends over the years.

I should have hundreds of them by now. I started working with small-size cards when I joined the #100dayproject on Instagram long ago. It’s a yearly project when we work on something creative for 100 days. I joined this project many years back, but I skipped it last year. It starts on February 22nd, and I am still deciding what I will do, it will be probably more inches, but I still have a few days to decide.

The main intention of keeping doing the same thing for 100 days is to burst the creativity making time for working lovingly on something that is important to us.

Than-Bauk poem

I decided to give a try to a new poetry form this week for Tanka Tuesday Photo Prompt: Than Bauk is a Burmese poem.

Than Bauk consists of three lines of four syllables that should be witty. The nickname for this form of poetry, could be “Stairway”, because of the rhyme steps through the poem”. See more details about this form here.

Hope you enjoy my take on it!

blood on the floor
dry tears for you

Fairy Garden

fairy garden
hidden throughout the moss
unfurling magic
dust filled up with enchantment
opening up the heart
releasing the dreams
deeply in the forest
luckiest is the one who finds it

Joining Sadje’ s What do you see challenge My first thought when I looked at this pretty image was a fairy home. I love the blue colour of the mushrooms. Blue is the throat chakra, the one related to the voice, to speak up and release feelings.

Hope you enjoy my poem!

creative space

my desk

The space where I journal is always messy. I organize it once in a while, but soon it goes back to its natural state. I like this way, papers and colours spread everywhere. I enjoy looking under piles of stuff and finding some treasure buried there. Pens and pencils should be at hand as well as stickers.

This desk is in a room, in the basement, which I call my studio. Nobody goes there if not invited, my family knows that it is my space, and when I’m there, I will be writing, reading or creating something. They know I like to have ‘me time’, to be alone. As I get older, I value all the moments I have to be by myself.

As Virginia Woolf wrote “A room of One’s Own

This week I set up the February opening pages for my journals and I prepped a few with watercolours for the weekdays. On the ones below I wrote my goals for the month. I liked how it turned out, the combination of colours and stickers.

Have a nice week ahead, and please find a pocket of ‘me time’ for yourself!

broken

a broken dish
mended with gold
the scar is precious
it tells time and has a story
shouldn’t be erased, discarded
travelling to countries, continents
rough oceans, calm skies
it reveals a path taken, chosen
to reach the eventful moment
a split second of sorrow
when the past can’t be redone
however, the future is a choice
the trash bin or the shining on the shelf
a decision must be made
the fragility in the hands of the doer
a smile, a memory of celebration
a lump in my throat, a memory of an empty dish
mended with gold

Tanka Tuesday – Random words

selfish on her grace
she's capricious each moment
a trap for the eyes

Tanka Tuesday this week invites us to play with words. I love to write found poetry, and this is similar. She gave us a list of words to pick three or more and write a poem. I’ve chosen: selfish, capricious and trap. These beautiful yellow flowers are in a pot on my desk, I’m enchanted by their beauty, so this poem is for them. The words are below, why don’t you give it a try?

watercolour

I’ve rediscovered the joy of adding watercolour to my pages. The only downside is that it takes a long time to dry, so I can’t write on the pages as soon as I paint them. The solution is to prep them in advance. Today I prepared a few pages for the weekdays, it’s always a joy to see how the pages turn out after drying.

Because watercolor actually moves on the paper,

it is the most active of all mediums, almost a performance art.

love

in my garden

Saturday morning! I had a busy week and only now I’m catching up with this week’s writing challenges.

listen to me
in a world without gods
cherish love
because it transcends matter, time and space
it keeps us going, it fills us with optimism
it’s the ultimate resource for survival
in a forgotten world
as a breeze carrying seed to a distant land
love spreads infinite hope
when the spell is broken
look up at the stars
memories of scattered love
will spring from the universe
and fill up your soul
you will keep that moment
forever ever
and find the goddess inside your pure being
waiting to be pleased
a constellation of joy will guide you

I hope you enjoyed my poem and have a great weekend,

E.
