wearing many masks
disguised in happiness
fake happiness
destined to burst anytime
or to fly away
leaving tears in the face
of my inner-child

excellent take, Elizabeth. Fake happiness is never worth it, but I’m still on the fence about phrases like ‘fake it till you make it’ or ‘don’t let them see you cry’…

thanks Jude! these phrases are tough but necessary sometimes, a survival skill!
