Happy New Year

img_2253It’s difficult to believe but 2018 is almost here. What has happened with 2017? It was like yesterday I was wishing happy 2017.

I don’t like to make resolutions for the new year,  generally, by February I’ve already given up on them.

But I do choose a word of the year, I’ve been doing it since 2014 and it really makes a difference for me. A tiny work helps me to be focus, to always bring me back to my real self.

My word for 2018 is EMBRACE. I’ve been doing a brave work of discovering my true self, a journey of self-love and respect. It’s time to accept myself and be my true friend. I painted this canvas and I’ll place it on a wall in my studio.  The symbols on it are Angelic Zibu Symbols: On the top left – nurture yourself, left side – listen within and on the right – embrace life. My 2017 word was BRAVE, I painted a canvas for it as well. Looking back I see that I was really brave in relation to figure out stuff that was hidden deep inside me.

I painted a wheel of the year with words for each month, so I can narrow down and work month by month on each intention. On the left side are my intentions and on the right side I’ll fill up after each month with the what really happened.

img_2256Here are my new notebooks for 2018:

The one with flowers is a Christma gift from hubby, it will be my journal for morning/evening pages, under it is a large sketchbook that I’ll use for art journaling. I have the We’Moon datebook and the tiny one is Hobonichi Techo, Japanese compact daily planner, that I’ll use for poetry and quotes. This last one is a quite expensive notebook, but I decided to give it to myself as a treat because I deserve it!

And you? Have you chosen a work for the new year, set few intentions, or are you going to let things move according to the flow?

Happy New Year!

Sunday Journaling

Today I finished my journal, it’s a wonderful feeling to write in the last page of a journal, it’s like mission accomplished! I can say that I’ve changed a lot since I wrote the first page of this notebook few months ago.

Here is my new journal, it is a novel journal where the lines are words of a story, mine is Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland, I got it from Amazon, they have lots of novels to choose from, I bought Alice because of the cover being pink and the quote on it, you can check this and other novel journals here.

Hope you are having a lovely Sunday. Here it’s raining, so I’m cozy at home drinking a latte and blogging.

Have a great week!

E.

Welcome November

New month, new possibilities, blank pages to be filled up with joy!

Only 3 things I’ve planned for November:

  • lots of writing and journaling
  • focus on gratitude
  • starting hot yoga classes (I’ve practicing yoga for many years but today I’ll will have my first class of hot yoga!)

And you? What are the 3 main things you want to focus this month?

Happy November!

Nurturing Thursday #4

“Nothing makes the light, the wonder, the treasure stand out so well as darkness.”

If you followed my previous blog you know that my favourite book is Women who run with the wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estes.  I keep it always close to me on my bedside table, or on my desk in my studio. When I need a word of comfort or inspiration I open this book to a random page and for sure I find what I’m looking for.

Hope you have a wonderful and inspired Thursday.

Sharing with Nurturing Thursday.

Share Your World::Oct 16, 2017

I’m joining Cee’s SYW challenge. Here are the questions:

If you had to move to a country besides the one you currently live in, where would you move and why?

Last year I went to Rio de Janeiro for the Olympics. I love the city and everything about it: the people, the weather, the food, the beaches, the mountains, the colours. It’s a place completely different from Canada, my country and I love it,  but I’d try Rio, not for long, maybe a year or so. I know there are lots of problems in there, like health care, violence, corruption…, but it would be fun to know more about the culture and the people in an exotic country. Here are few pics from my trip.

What color would you like your bedroom to be?

It would be light blue and it will have a large window, with white lace curtains,  overlooking the Atlantic ocean. I’ll keep the window open, so the ocean breeze will lightly move the curtains. I love the smell of the sea, salt and sand.

What makes you Happy? Make a list of things in your life that bring you joy.

I made this journal page few weeks ago and looking back at my tiny art journal I saw this quote last week. A reminder that I need to take more risks, not be so much in the safe side.

Hope you enjoyed my ‘world’, please visit Cee’s blog for more adventures.
