Wordless Wednesday :: Bright leaves

Spring has sprung in my garden! Cherry blossoms, tulips, hyacinths…

It’s getting pretty around here! Wishing a blessed Sunday to us!

Abstract art is my favorite kind of expression. It can be photography, paint, drawing…, I like to make them and to admire the work of others.
I’ve been making art pages, cards for many years and for almost a decade I’ve been posting them on Instagram. I’ve a beautiful community in there, we inspire and cheer each other up. I’ve joined many art challenges, it is a great way to connect with like-minded people, learn new techniques and share my work. The 100 day project is going on now, I’ve joined it for many years, and it’s fun to work for 100 days on an artsy project. I’ve chosen abstract art cards for this year.
I was posting every day or at the weekend my cards. Around the 50th card, I received a nasty comment “You shouldn’t call it art, gluing images or dumping painting on a piece of paper isn’t art!” I got really upset and stopped posting them, I still keep up making them, here you see the 51st to 75th cards. My cards are one way to express my feelings, a card can take a few minutes to make, others hours or weeks. It’s not easy to transfer our feelings to a piece of paper.
I looked up the definition of art and Merriam-Webster.com says:
“something that is created with imagination and skill and that is beautiful or that expresses important ideas or feelings.“
I think that my tiny little cards can be included as ‘art’. What do you think?
“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.”
Pablo Picasso

Tulips. They are my obsession right now. I can’t walk by them without stopping and taking a photo. This photo was taken yesterday in a nearby park.

Welcoming the outdoors. Here and now. Flowers. Birds singing. Sunshine. Running shoes. Early mornings and fresh air.
Blossom by blossom the spring begins.

Stop, breathe, listen. Being in the moment and paying attention to the details. Walking by the river yesterday, I stopped and looked down, yes, I saw the fish swimming upstream, many of them, busy to reach something, someplace.

Yesterday was warm enough and finally I could walk in my garden and take a few pictures.
I spotted this rose bush, the tiny leaves are showing up. It is always nice to see the plants coming back to life, the tiny green spots pushing through the soil after the harsh winter months.
You can cut all the flowers but you cannot keep spring from coming
Pablo Neruda
I’m grateful that spring is here to bright up my days and my mood. My mind goes to dark places in the winter, too much of it isn’t good.
It is spring again. The earth is like a child that knows poems by heart.
Rainer Maria Rilke
Happy Easter to you!

Nothing like starting the day with bright new pages. I’ve been writing morning pages for almost a decade. It has become a habit, like brushing the teeth and drinking a cup of coffee early mornings.
My favorite notebook for my journaling is Moleskine. I love the softness of the pages, and it just few right in my hands. This one is almost done. I’d like to try a new brand, but not sure which one I’d go for. Any suggestions?
