magical moment the waves coming and going freshness on my face deeply into the abyss hallucination comes true
Tanka Tuesday this week is TANKA PROSE: “We write Tanka prose from the first-person point-of-view. The prose paragraph(s) must also seek to be, if not poetic, at least something that grabs our attention. It must compete with the verse in its style, intending to be inventive and expressive all on its own.“
I took this photo during the weekend, the weather was fabulous, perfect to wander around and take photos. I thought the photo is perfect for a tanka poem. Hope you enjoy the poem and the photo.
That is an amazing photo, Elizabeth, and your words do it justice! I loved both!

Lots of lakes around here, but no sea, I miss the strong waves. Thanks, Sally!

I enjoy a good walk in good weather by any water. We actually have a freeze warning!
But then in our area the frost free safe date is May 10 or 15. 🙂

I like how you include your feet in photos, Elizabeth. It looks like you’re waiting patiently for the secrets of the deep to be revealed. 🙂

Being by the water is wonderful, I’m so glad I have this lake almost in front of my home.

Excellent! However, tanka prose contains at least one prose paragraph and a tanka. LOL! And, I agree with Yvi. There’s something lurking in the water. ❤

Oh, my bad! I didn’t pay attention to the word prose, I thought poetry. (:

LOL! That’s okay. I figured that’s what happened. ❤

Beautiful picture and poem, Elizabeth. … As Yvi says, best watch out for the golden-eyed merman! 💕🙂

Great poem! Is it just me, or do you see a creepy ghost (merman) looking back at you right above your left foot in the water (where the image begins to blur, two bright dots that look like eyes)? May that hallucination NOT come true. Lol!

Yes, it is there, but I hadn’t seeing it before, only now reading the comments! It’s indeed spooky, I wonder what the creepy ghost would thinking looking at me from down there 🙂
