Do you believe in destiny? I’m not sure I do. I think I’m more a kind of free will person, but sometimes I’d like to believe in destiny, to believe that my path was designed long ago, and nothing would change the here and now. I’d be free of guilty, and I’d stop thinking about the what if…
The freedom of choice is wonderful, I’m thankful for living in a country where I’m free to go and come back to where I want, not so much now with the pandemic 🙂 but many women in the world don’t have this physical freedom. Here, I’m not talking about the physical/space stuff, I’m talking about the stuff that is in my mind, the freedom to be content in the moment, to know that the here and now is the best for me, no matter what happened, this path is the right, it is the one written in the stars.
“No one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path.”
Buddha
“Does the walker choose the path, or the path the walker?”
Garth Nix, Sabriel
The topic for this week WQWWC is Writer’s choice, I’ve chosen Destiny! Let me know in the comments what are your thoughts about it.
Have a great weekend!
An interesting though ! Destiny versus free will . I suppose, will focus on the here and now and see how it goes. Superb quotes, Elizabeth.

A beautiful quotes. I really feel it’s us who choose but then the options are provided to us 😊… Destiny plays alround.

Beautiful picture. I’d love to be walking down that path.
Great thoughts about freedom, Elizabeth. It made me think and wonder if I had not been so lucky to have been born when and where I was, would I have the courage or even the knowledge of how to move to gain freedom? Your words remind me once again to be grateful for the huge things that we take for granted, like our freedom of thought and movement. How priceless those are and how miserable we would be without them.
Thank you so much! And thanks for joining in #WQWWC.

Thanks, Marsha! We take many things for granted, it’s good to stop and be grateful for the little things, like clean tap water, that aren’t so little to others.

I was talking to my husband about your post today as we drove around exploring new places and how wonderful it is to have the freedom to do so. 🙂

Yes, feel honored, sometimes I can’t remember what I had for lunch. LOL. I guess it goes to what’s important. They say we remember very little of what we hear or even read (at least the first time through) The more senses we involve, the better we remember, but if we add emotion and storytelling to our experience, we drastically increase what we can remember.

I like the quote “does the walker choose the path…?” Your post certainly brings us to ponder.

It’s a nice quote. It would be good if we could see the end of the paths in front of us before we choose which one to take.
