Justing

Spotted this weekend in a river nearby
flow
with joy
time will tell
the right moment
not a second more
and not a second less
listen, your intuition
sailing in turbulent waters
let go of the grip, breathe in and out
sparkling water will show the direction

Joining the W3 prompt this week with an Etheree poem.

II. Violet’s prompt guidelines

Choose a word from The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows and make it the title of your poem. Your poem should either use the word directly or capture the essence of its meaning. Include a direct link to the word’s page so readers can explore its definition and origin. Write in any poetic form you wish.

I’ve chosen JUSTING, check the meaning here.

  1. Feels like you’ve caught that perfect balance of movement and stillness, Elizabeth — the “sparkling water” line really carries the calm guidance through. I’ve been reading more of your poetry lately, and this one flows right into that same thoughtful space.

    1. Thanks David! I’m always searching for balance/stillness. It’s not easy, the mind plays tricks, and the poetry is a form of releasing these thoughts. I’m happy you are reading my poem. I try to be more constant with it, blogging more, but I as I said above, my mind isn’t always in the right place.

  2. Just being is better! I like how the poem has a shape. At first I thought it was a tree, but then I wondered if it might be an upside-down anchor. Things can be very different depending on how we look at them!
