wings of transformation hidden beneath the mystery a message from faraway or close by its beauty is softness letting go of the weight opening up to the possibilities immersed in lavender scent reminds me of calm no hurry the time will arrive you will find the truth
My garden is blooming with flowers and butterflies, from time to time a dragonfly shows up, and I like to believe it has a message for me.
“The Dragonfly has been a symbol of happiness, new beginnings and change for many centuries. The Dragonfly means hope, change, and love.” You can find more about it here.
W3 prompt this week is “Write about the first wild creature that you see which inspires you on the day you write your poem.”

The dragonfly is all those things. So beautiful you had such a visit. I had a similar visit on my lavender today too, and without my phone in hand, marveled at it for many seconds. Thanks so much. This is lovely.

I used to chase dragonflies by the creek when I was a child, but I could never catch up to them. What a great photo! (K)

Oh yes, they are hard to catch, they are all about freedom.

This beautiful poem leaves me feeling tranquil.
“Immersed in lavender scent / reminds me of calm” I so love these lines. They transport me to your garden and the enviable sighting of the dragonfly.
I’ve never seen one with wings like that before. (Wonderful photo, btw.👌).
“hidden beneath the mystery / a message from faraway” brings a gentle tear to my eye.
I love this wondrous poem that shows a strong connection with nature 💜

Thanks, Lesley! Your prompt is wonderful, we learn so much with nature, it’s up to us to stop and observe all the gifts nature has available for us. I’m very happy my poem has spoken to you. 🙂

Yes, Nature takes her time, and we should too! I am lucky that dragonflies are common where I live. Many of the ones I see are black, with bright blue markings; they seem to be attracted by similar colors on my boat when I row with my husband. 🙂

That’s lovely, Meg! Dragonflies around while on the boat, it is magical!

Fantastic picture Elizabeth. We may see an occasional damsel fly, but dragon flies are a rarity. Lovely post.

Thanks so much! I took this photo with my Nikon, I thought it was worth to use it instead the phone. Dragonflies are rare here too, so I can’t miss the opportunity of a beautiful pic! 🙂

I have a Nikon coolpix and treated myself to a Canon Powershot two years ago. I’ve been lucky to get some good pictures.
