“Happily we bask in this warm September sun, which illuminates all creatures.”
Henry David Thoreau
ups and downs
- the beautiful photo i took this morning, the leaves changing colours and the blue moon up there
- the darkness in my mind, where regrets don’t leave me alone
- cicadas buzzing
- the sun warming my skin
- the wind caressing my hair
- my thoughts taking me away from here, from this moment
- a new season starts, releasing the past and opening new gates for the future
- the present is what matters
it’s holiday here, i’m catching up with some writing in my deck. please, tell me one beautiful thing you are doing today.

You’re right, the present is what matters. Right now I’m listening to waves and the rustle of the wind through the palms. 💚

Beautiful pairing of the photo and your lovely lines, Elizabeth. I love fall and in my area, there are signs of my favorite upcoming season.

Thanks, Eugi! Fall in coming fast here, I saw many red leaves already on the ground today.

It’s hot here in Pittsburgh, no leaves turning yet. I am cooking spaghetti dinner before my daughter goes back to college.

This week is a tough one with the return of the classes, hope you spaghetti was yummy and your daughter carries this memory with her.

Lovely picture! It’s actually hot here in the motherland, finally, but signs of autumn just beginning. I haven’t done anything beautiful, work all day and a horrendous drive home. I’m drinking my tea in the garden though, medicine for the soul! Love the words today x

Thanks Jane! Tea in the garden is indeed medicine for soul! Have a lovely rest of the week!

It’s a bit warmer here than I would prefer, but I am inside, reading your blog with Parker sound asleep on my lap. It’s a good morning, Elizabeth.

I’m jealous! Parker on your lap, I wish. It was hot here too, I spent most of the afternoon inside. Have a good week, Lois!
