Many years ago from the window of an airplane I saw a river with crystal blue water and I thought: This place will be my home.
For whatever we lose (like a you or a me),
It’s always our self we find in the sea.
e.e. cummings
Now, as I write this post in my living room, I can listen to the waves and hear the engine of a ship passing by. My home is a few steps from this magnificent river. Every morning I walk/run by its side, feeling its power and energy, flowing with it.

We had rain and thunders during the night. The water was showing all its power. It was washing and cleaning, it filled up the rivers and lakes. Earth’s fragrance is freshness.
A river seems a magic thing. A magic, moving, living part of the very earth itself.
Laura Gilpin

Water is magical in all its forms. From Inside a cup ready to hydrate us to the large oceans harbouring fish and others sea creatures. From the tap in our homes to wash our hands to the salt water washing the shore of islands.
Be like water,
Flow like a river,
Crash like the rain,
Fly like the cloud again!

This is such a lovely post. I particularly liked this quote:

Flow like a river,
Crash like the rain,
Fly like the cloud again!

Oh, Elizabeth, how wonderful to be by the river. What beautiful poems, quotes and photos. For about the last twenty or so years, we have lived on dry creek beds both in CA and now here in Prescott. When the rain comes, they flow and it is glorious. Your river is stunning, dream-making. Now I will be turquoise with envy. 🙂

Each place has its own beauty and pleasures to be explored. I really like to be by the water, so it was a condition I imposed to my husband when he got a job here and we decided to move. Near the water or no moving. It was already too much that I had to leave my job and hunt for another one here. 😉

Smart. I did not impose any conditions on Vince, but I did not allow him to move till I had retired. When we walked into this condo, we both fell in love with it and stopped looking at other houses ghat second. A forest and dry creek was fine. That doesn’t mean I can’t be envious of yours, though!

It’s a good feeling when we enter/see a place and know that it’s the one, no need to look anymore. Glad you found yours and a forest close by its wonderful!

That is some view you have!
Love your quotes, particularly the e e cummings (one of my favourite poets). And I love water and the sea, so your post resonates so much with me. I love that you saw your home from a plane first of all.

Cummings poems are indeed wonderful. And yes, sometimes we have a good feeling about a place and we must do everything to be there.
